Mental Strength and Conditioning: The Commitment to Continuous Improvement
At the highest levels of competition, small differences separate Champions from runners-up.
The better the player, the harder it is to make dramatic progress. Yet every player and every team can always get better.
Work ethic, persistence, determination, consistency, attention to details, coping with adversity, team unity, and skill development are based upon thoughts, attitudes, and emotions – mental strength – which can become automatic – mental conditioning – to support performance during a long season and under pressure.
This is something the Brahmas coaches, Dan Wildfong and Ron Vogel, firmly believe, and that’s why they have John Sowada on board to help with Mental Strength and Conditioning.
John helps individual Brahmas players make the most of their natural ability, physical training, and  hockey skills by helping them use their thinking, emotions, and visualization to max out their performance. Mental strength and conditioning improves the odds of success when dealing with adversity, pressure, and injury. Small adjustments can make a big difference in confidence, consistency, and peak performance.
John also works with the coaching staff and players to strengthen their “buy in” to playing for and with each other as a team. Working together creates competitive advantage, even against “more talented” opponents.
