BRAHMAS DROP PHYSICAL GAME TO AMERICANS
FORT WORTH LOSES 4-3 TO ALLEN

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (January 8) - An early deficit proved too large to overcome Tuesday night, as the Brahmas fell to the Allen Americans by the score of 4-3.

Kip Brennan got the Americans on the board early as he scored his third goal of the season just 3:05 into the game. Ryley Grantham added another first-period score at 7:27 to extend the Allen lead to 2-0.

Allen jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the 5:09 mark of the second period when Darryl Bootland put back a rebound off of a Brett Skinner shot from the point.

Tomas Klempa, the Brahmas leading scorer this season, got Fort Worth on the board as he deflected an Erik Spady slapshot past Allen netminder Steve Silverthorn. Klempa’s goal cut the Brahmas deficit to two goals entering the third period.

Brennan notched his second goal of the game at 7:03 of the third period as he put home a loose puck in front of the net, giving the Americans a three-goal lead once again.

The Brahmas responded just two minutes later as John Snowden fired a wrister from the left face-off circle into the back of the net off of a set-up from Shawn Szydlowski. Snowden scored again on a Brahmas’ 6-on-4 advantage to make it a 4-3 game with 1:11 to play in regulation, but Allen held on for the remainder of the third to take the victory.

Kristofer Westblom stopped 21 of 25 shots in net for Fort Worth in a losing effort. Silverthorn, a member of the Brahmas a year ago, made 31 saves on 34 shots to pick up his 12th win of the season.

The Brahmas had success on the powerplay, going 2-for-3 with the man advatange. Allen entered the game with the highest powerplay percentage in the Central Hockey League, and went 1-for-3 Tuesday night.

The Brahmas will face off against the Americans twice more this week. Friday, January 11, the two teams will meet at the Allen Event Center at 7:05pm. Saturday, January 12, Fort Worth will host Allen at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:30pm for Youth Jersey Night. The first 800 fans under the age of 12 in attendance will receive a free youth jersey courtesy of Ashley Furniture.

The Brahmas have reduced individual ticket prices from a season ago, as well as lowering the price of full-season, half-season and 11-game ticket packages for the 2012-2013 season. For more ticket information, please contact a Brahmas sales representative at 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
