BRAHMAS WEEKLY UPDATE

UPCOMING WEEK FEATURES THREE ROAD GAMES

FORT WORTH, Texas (October 29) - The Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League opened the 2012-2013 season with three games this past weekend, earning a 1-1-1 record.

LOOKING BACK:

After losing a tough game in a shootout to Allen Friday, the Brahmas bounced back with a 3-2 win over the Americans the next night as Shawn Szydlowski buried the game-winning goal at the end of the second period. Returning netminder Brad Fogal made 38 saves on 40 shots to shut down Allen and give Fort Worth its first win of the season.

The Brahmas began a four-game road trip Sunday in Tulsa, falling to the Oilers 4-2. Fort Worth dug itself a 3-0 hole early in the second period and was unable to recover fully despite goals from Brendon Hodge and Cody Hamilton.

Before Sunday’s game, the Brahmas welcomed back a familiar face. T.J. Fox, the team’s second highest point-scorer (55) a year ago and the team leader in assists (37) returned to Fort Worth for his second season with the franchise. Fox has played five professional seasons between the CHL, the American Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League and the German Bundesliga, and is a multi-faceted forward with scoring ability.

“T.J. was a great player for us last year and is a nice addition for us this year,” said Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong. “He knows our system and can play in multiple situations – the powerplay, penalty kill, whatever we need him to do.”

LOOKING AHEAD:

The upcoming week features three games away from home for the Brahmas – Wednesday at the Arizona Sundogs and Friday and Saturday at the CHL’s newest franchise, the Denver Cutthroats.

The Brahmas went 3-1-2 versus the Sundogs last season, earning eight points in the six games between the two teams.

The Brahmas are back at the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday, November 9 at 7:30pm when they host the Oilers for the first of a two-game series. The second game is scheduled for Saturday, November 10 at 7:30pm.

In an effort to reward fans for their patience this off-season, the Brahmas have reduced individual ticket prices, as well as lowering the price of full-season, half-season and 11-game ticket packages for the 2012-2013 season.
